Spanning from Old Middleton Rd to Lake Mendota, the Grassman Greenway Flood Mitigation project increased stormwater conveyance to reduce recurring flash flooding to homes along the greenway. New larger box culverts were installed under University Ave and Lake Mendota Dr. and the channel itself was expanded to increase flow. Rip rap was placed in the channel to mitigate erosion and the side slopes were restored with native seeding, shrubs and trees.
